Camellia

This Camellia was here in our garden when we moved in 11 years ago. It sits in a sheltered, sunny spot & I do nothing to it whatsoever because it does its own wonderfully flowery thing every year! 😍 #camellia

Oh that is a stunner, I have had a camellia in a pot for the past couple of years, doing diddly squat, even changed and put new ericasous compost in the pot, has not flowered once yet a few new leaves that's it.

Hi, i just planted two new camellias to my garden. They very small yet. How quick they grow? What so i need to feed them with? Thank you ;))

Hi you need to use an ericaceous food as these are acid loving plants. If you've not planted them in acid soil the leaves will go yellow in time & will look quite sickly. They're not too slow growing but will take a few years to get to a decent size shrub.

@shelleyB if only I knew! It was here when we moved in 9 yrs ago so I'm not sure. There are so many it could be! But if I find out, I'll let you know 👍🏻

Oh no @fuschia sometimes that can be due to dry soil at the end of the previous summer 🤔

Gorgeous @ellenmarygardening 😍 neither did mine @fuschia was in a large pot but have planted it in the ground to see if it will do better next year

@janric mine is only a couple of years old. It flowered last year with one flower lol. None this year😩 it's in the ground already x
