Arundo donax 'Versicolor'

Help me identify this plant. It's growing everywhere at my sons house and he's going nuts,and I am too since my brain and tongue won't cooperate. ..lol!

@Acetaker Hi Chris. Looks like Phalaris arundinacea. The Reed Canary Grass.

@Acetaker Is it a variegated bamboo grass?

It does look rather like the Phalaris but if it's not then perhaps Arundo donax 'Versicolor'?

@acetaker i have that as well and thought it was reed canary grass...just pulled it up today. Was taking over the hosta.

@tiggrx @mikethegardener @blueheart yes it will take over its very intrusive,but I've never seen a bloom just spreading and as tall as 7ft +
