I have a tiny farmhouse in rural PA w/ lots of fields & forest... I enjoy being surrounded by as many plants as possible, both outdoors & in my home!

New home for our scraggly lil #rhododendron at the Mountain Rd farmhouse, along the backyard treeline... hopefully by the time we move back there next spring it will look nice & healthy again 😊 #fall #transplant

Discovered a family of mice living underneath our #rhododendron ...there seems to be a labyrinth of tunnels burrowed under the roots & now the plant is starting to look kinda sickly 😕 Any advice on how to evict the mice without harming the plant??? #GThelp

@SikoMa We do have 4 cats already 😸 but they mostly stay indoors here because we're too close to the road, unfortunately 😕

@aes239 well, mouse traps are effective....they even make catch and release traps. But then u have to relocate the little goobers...a blacksnake wld get em, if u can stand a snake...

@SikoMa We have a harness! and yes, they hate it, lol 😆 I'm considering a small fence/ enclosure where they could just hang out in the yard & garden area under supervision, maybe...

@aes239 don't know if the mice are 💯 % the issue. Treat your rhododendron to a good quality tonic, something like sequestered iron, which will help the acidity of the soil & give the plant some nutrients. Remember feeding acid lovers must be done with feeds balanced for this purpose i.e. Ericaceous feeds.
