The lesser burnt rose bush has recovered a bit after two weeks. It has grown small leaves, a bit stunted compared to the original leaves it had. But atleast it is not dead!

Sadly, the leaves on my rose bush have started to Yellow profusely. I have repotted it a over a week ago, both of them, but this one suddenly turned yellow yesterday. I’m not sure if it is the heat since temps have started to rise but this makes me really sad. It did not have any major pest problems so I’m not sure what to do! #rose-help #help
😣😢😔
did you fertilize after transplanting? could be root burn. leach pot with water numerous times and allow to dry.

If fertilizer is not the problem, you should water with an Epsom salt solution. This helps transplant shock, yellowing leaves and new growth and blooms. This is because it is magnesium sulfate and plants need both, but magnesium helps in the photosynthesis. This is why it can help green up the leaves for instance. Roses really like it. The solution is 2 T Epsom salt with 1 gallon water. In a pot once a month would be good. In the ground they say you can't water with it too much. You can Google
Continued: it for more information if you like. Good luck. 🤗
@moore.794 thank you! yes there was some organic compost added to the soil. is that what caused the yellowing? i just flushed out the plant with water now thanks to your advice. does it help to change the soil? i was thinking about it but im afraid it would cause more stress.
@purplebird thank you. i think it might have been the organic compost in the soil. now that ive tried to flush out the soil with water, would it help to still water with an epsom salt solution?
@gjones @columbiariver thank you for tagging!!! 🤗
@Columbiariver did my choice...ask the one in the know.
It depends what was in the compost that was too much. I don't know anything about organic compost. My thought would be yes because it helps with shock and they said in the ground you can't get too much because it kinda decomposses. If it was mine I would but I can't tell you for sure. You might Google organic compost to see what is in it. I just googled it and it seems that it should have microbes, and builds soil. If it store bought it can have things in it you don't want like human biowaste.
Continued: no mention of the chemicals in fertilizer although I am sure there are some just not as potent. My best thought is use the Epsom salt solution because it is not the same chemicals.🤗

Rose bud! ⭐️🌹⭐️
Here’s the yellow rose bush, which felt the root burn the most. 😓 It is also recovering, already growing leaves here and there. Gave them an epsom salt bath as well.
Do you feed it regularly?
@brightcolours i think i may have overfed it that time. ive stopped fertilizing for now and just letting it grow back its leaves. ive done an epsom salt wash around a month ago. but thats pretty much it.
I’d give it a little prune. It will recover faster if it’s not spending energy getting to the end of those longer, spindly branches.
@brightcolours will do! pruning scares me. 😬 i always worry they wont bounce back! will read about the proper way to do it. are “pruning rules” pretty much the same for every plant?
I know pruning is Very Scary when you start out! But your rose will thank you! @janmartin may have some rose pruning advice. You should check out her beautiful roses!
