Thanks @bch208 it originally came wired to keep its shape long and lanky. After a year or so I could t stand the wires so I took them off! But it isn’t really growing well, to much browning that I guess I should trim off!
it's nice Bonsai material Alison, so what you need to do before cut everything; is decide the pose of the Bonsai. Just image this tree is a human models, and standing in front of you, and you can move arround, even make it tilted to the right or left; and move their hand (branch). Finally you will decide where is the best front face of this Bonsai.
Front face of the Bonsai is dependent of many aspect; Root visibility, basic movement of the main trunk, and planing the main canopy foliage should bend forward like someone in front of you who respects you in Japanese culture. And all those aspect is a natural description of a tree living in nature.
After you choose the right pose you need to wiring those hands as you wish, but remember juniper is a sensitive plant, you must wiring this just in one time, don't repeat this activity on the next day, you can repeat it in another month, after its completely healthy. And juniper is not an easy tree to grow their branches, so you have to really sure to choose which one is the best branch to grow. Dance with them and good luck! You can get application "My Bonsai" on Android to planing the Bonsai.
Need help fixing this baby, any and all welcome ideas!
