My #windowsillwednesday offering. If anyone has any advice on getting rid of the horrible black flies I would be eternally grateful!!

I love your pots, Allison. They set your plants off really well. I can’t offer any advice about the black flies, though 😢

We got some window stickers that attract flies, they work great, have to change them about once a month. Other than that, try to make sure there's no standing water in the pots, and a good layer of grit over the soil helps amazingly, needs to be a good cm or so deep

@hebelover I've done the water thing and added cinnamon (Google) will try the grit, they're driving me nuts!

The yellow sticky sheets that you can get for green houses. Cut into small squares and place on the compost in pots

@sieveheadsarah I always do anyway, they're really dry at the moment and the buggers are still in there 🤬

They’re such a pain 😖 I got the sticky fly traps that are butterfly shapes, you stick them into the pots, have a look on Amazon 👍🏼
