Brought my fushsia in about 2 weeks ago. It is an annual around here. But trying to winter it over inside. It dropped almost all of its leaves. I have cut back the dead. There is some new grow. Does anyone know if this is normal for it?
Mine is outside year round but I cut it back this time of year. Between the heat and hot winds we have had, mine looks about the same. The new growth is good. This particular variety is very hardy. Don't over water.
Oh, if it worries you still in a bit, pinch off flowers to push growth into base.
@lovestogarden. Thank you for the help.
I'm going to try to bring in mine. My sister has done it. You can bring them into a dark place after cutting them back to over winter but bringing them in the house sounds more fun
@lovestogarden @gjones @momasherri. This is my first time bringing it inside. I bought it early summer to help draw hummingbirds. Let me know how yours does momasherri.

Time to bring my fuchsia inside. This one is an annual in my area. Hoping to winter it over inside. Thankfully it doesn't like a lot of sun.

Doing wonderful since I moved it to a shader location.
@dorothydot1. I love it too. But it will have to come inside for the winter if I want to try to keep it.
