Drying the first bunch of #strawflowers πΌπΈπΌ They suffered a bit in the downpours at the weekend so they can stay in the summerhouse to dry out π

Aren't they great Ange and look at colours

Yes! I absolutely love them Alan - there's still plenty in the borders but I don't know what they'll look like after today with the weather we're having! I might have to pick them aswell. @alan1111

Hi everyone, I'm slightly obsessed with these Strawflowers at the moment! Can you tell? They're so detailed and different to anything I've grown before. The Strawflowers so far ... hopefully the sun will encourage them to open π #strawflowers

Just a hint, if you are wanting to dry them, itβs better to cut them before they are fully open as they continue to open after cutting. π

Morning Joan, thanks for letting me know π I'm really taken with these - interesting little things πΌπΈπΌ @joanboston

Haven't ever grown them, they're so unusual and pretty colours Ange

They look like those flowers you find in cactus π΅ the ones that look as if theyβre just stuck in....

Angel I used to cut a long stem and hang a bunch upside down somewhere dry out of the strong light till they were really dry. Hope that helps ππ€

Morning Sue, I love them! They're really easy to grow too, I'm fascinated by them. I picked the seed packet up in Lidl after seeing them on here, glad I did now ππΈπΌ @churchfarmgarden

Yes, maybe this is what they use on π΅π΅ they feel just the same π @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Yes, thank you - I will be doing that π I'm going to let the first few flower in the garden just to see them. Alan @alan1111 says to deadhead them too to keep them going (or pick them I suppose) π @joanboston
