106 year old Edwardian cottage garden with a 106 year old house attached which is equally challenging. Some days I feel like I'm the same age.

I think this #Begonia Sutherlandii must have been out of fashion for the past 2 decades. I saw it for 1st time again yesterday. It had no name. The only one among outdoor plants so had to have it for £1.99. I remember my late mum always used to have a huge Sutherlandii covered in flowers but it was always treated as a houseplant. There's a lot of buds on this one so hope there's loads of flowers.

I think your plant might be Begonia 'Burning Embers'. It is well worth tracking down B. sutherlandii, it's a beautiful plant. You can sometimes get the bulbils on eBay.

@tiggrx I think you're right I got excited when I saw it Just assumed over the past 20 years they had hybridised it as my memory is that the colour was more peachy/orange as opposed to this 1 which is a lot brighter. I wonder if you've got the name right should it be Glowing Embers.I have a physocarpus called Burning Embers but it's a shrub. I will correct the identification if we can find definitive name for it. Well my hunt will have to continue. I looked on eBay a long time ago but only seeds
