@angipangi how is this doing? I'm thinking of getting one as I love the variegated leaves. Did it flower?
Yes it did. It actually had 3 lovely very dark purply red blooms. It's done very well for a £1.99 plant from HB in it's 1st year. I might post a pic later. The only reason I didn't post it was it flowered over the time when the weather was really wild up here and had difficulty getting a decent pic. I really like it. Like you I always go for different foliage. It brightens up the border even if it's not flowering. I would say go for it. It really is more attractive than the ordinary Buddleja.😀
