Latest edition to my #Pieris collection. It is #Pieris Scarlett O'Hara. The name certainly appeals to me as it won't be long before its'Gone with the Wind' up here. Bracts look to be more orangey than the usual reddish/pink.
@jrcheal They are not that greedy.I just feed them sometime in March & unless one of them is looking a bit sick I don't feed again. You must feed with ericaceous feed specially for acid loving plants. It's often sold as Rhododendron/Azalea/Camellia food.When it's not fed or subject to too much alkaline soil, leaves start to yellow. I mulch them with my homemade compost every spring.A good 2/3 inches around but not up to stems. I know some say feed twice but I like more natural growth than forced
