106 year old Edwardian cottage garden with a 106 year old house attached which is equally challenging. Some days I feel like I'm the same age.

Happy to see this familiar furry leaves of #Verbascum Olympicum but it could have chosen a better place to seed. It's right in the heart of a HT Rose root. It's a biennial that self seeds. I transferred one originally from my wild flowers outside the garden. It was among a mixed tin of wild seed sown years ago & comes back somewhere in the garden every year.

I had one growing in the cracks of my patio. I moved it to another part of the border last autumn and it's coming on nicely. Do you think you'll try moving this one? @angipangi

@richard.spicer.7906 Will be tricky but will have a go. If it had been a lesser specie I would have left it in situ but it usually grows to 6 or 7 feet & very sturdy so I think both would suffer if left. I really must try to save the rose because it's one of the first I put in when I came here 30 yrs ago. Hence the gnarled dead look but it certainly performs well. Hope your one flourishes. It's 1 very majestic plant. Look forward to seeing pics when it flowers.
