Blue Butterfly Pea
@AnkitaPKarthik I have the double-flower variety in this - they come in blue and white and at times, pink as well!! Childhood favourites of mine!
Hey could you please send me seeds of the white one? I bought online but they haven't germinated in a month. 😞
@AnkitaPKarthik Hi! Sorry missed this comment. I usually let them self-seed, which they do almost invasively. I think I do have some seeds somewhere, but am unsure what colour they will yield..
@AnkitaPKarthik I do have the seeds after all :) but I'm still unsure about the colour.
I deadhead ruthlessly to avoid landing up with hundreds of seeds. However, do let me know if your seeds are anything other than classic blue. I'd love to get my hands on them.
@AnkitaPKarthik I just let them run rampant on the abandoned terrace of my second home, which is why I have the seeds :) I've never found the need to deadhead butterfly pea (we in Maharashtra call them Gokarna because it resembles cows' ears, as well as Lord Shiva) but I suppose deadheading gives an astounding number of blooms 🙂
@AnkitaPKarthik I've found that the seed colours vary with flower colours, but am not sure which corresponds to which 😅 I reckon the light brown ones are for blue flowers and pitch black seeds yield white flowers. If you can tell me what colour your seeds were (mine were black) I could elucidate this mystery!
The only known Clitoria sapling I have is the DOUBLE blue one (you have the single variety). It's ages before I can gather their seeds but I can send you some if I'm around at the time :)
Send whichever one you can find, other than the one I have! God knows I have enough of these seeds 😁 And I'll send you some seeds in return. Deal?
@AnkitaPKarthik righto :) I sowed loads of seeds yesterday - received them from Devon!
Which seeds do you have btw?
