Chilli 'Birds Eye'. Too bad I am allergic to these colourful little firecrackers. Just as well they make a colourful display without any demand for care. #chilli #chilli-birdseye
Wow they look amazing!!! How tall and wide does the tree/bush get?
@tropicalifragilistic This one is growing to 2 metres with beautiful long, trailing branches and a spread of a metre. Easily trimmed to required size. I just love the long trailing branches loaded with colour. I let the Crows and Kurrawongs feast on them. The red Cordyline look good growing with the chillies.

Birds Eye Chilli. 2 metre high bush is thick with chillies. For perspective, right shows bush growing under the Paw Paw tree; red foliage leaves are Cordilyne. The Kurrawongs feast on them. I am now extremely allergic so I grow the bush for the beauty of the mass of colour and the big black and white birds. # chillies #chilli-birdseye

Birds Eye Chilli. If you like your chillies hot! Too hot for me but the tree covered in red, orange, yellow and green firesticks adds a wonderful colourful background in the garden. #chilli #birdseyechilli

Birds Eye chilli. If anyone tells you the green chillies are milder than the red, do not believe them. I did, took a bight of a green chilli, my lips burnt and I thought my tongue was going to disintegrate. They may be little but they have an explosive flavour. #chilli #chilli-birdseye
I understood red have more sugar (much like how grapes etc.) & the sweetness offsets the heat
@hvale26 thank you for the interesting and correct information. Either way, red, yellow or green, I use these chillies with caution and always have some coconut milk handy to cool the heat intensity if necessary. 😊

From another angle. Can't fit in the new branches forming on top which will soon fall downward from main trunk to give the effect of a standard. This chilli tree grows to 2 metre (6" 6") #birdseyechilli @lovestogarden
Wow! That is very impressive! My son would like to know if this is a special type or how you go it to grow so amazing. Thank you for this picture! He wants seeds if it is a special kind. Is that possible?
Grows naturally as a shrub and can be pruned. I have it growing in shade where it is getting rain run-off. Common names: 'Birds Eye Chilli' 'Thai Chilli' 'Piri Piri'. Small chillies point upward. Read on Amazon that US Customs siezed Birds Eye seeds as being contraband(?). Restrictions in Oz re seeds in post, I will check. 🦋
@nickyd513 as a fellow #capsicum grower, I thought you might enjoy this post of this amazing plant. ❤️
Oh wow that thing is huge! Growing like a tree

Birds Eye Chilli growing in my jungle. The small plants underneath are lettuce, getting sun protection in the undergrowth. #birdseyechilli @lovestogarden
I love your jungle! This is very impressive. ❤️🤯

Birds Eye Chilli. Add a bit of warm spice to the winter casserole as well as wonderful hot colour to the garden. Beautiful shape to this 1.5mt (5ft) bush with weeping branches, nearly as long as the bush, covered in little red, green and yellow chillies. This bush never stops producing these mild tasting chillies. #birdseyechilli #chilli #firstdayofwinter

Small chilli with a slight taste sting. The 1.5 metre (5 ft) bush looks beautiful with the upward facing fruit in various stages of green to ripe red. Sweet chilli sauce coming up. #birdseyechilli #chilli

Birds Eye Chilli. The tree is filled with these brightly coloured little firecrackers all year. Pity I have a severe allergy to them. I can still enjoy the the constant crop of sunny colours. #chilli #chilli-birdseye
Wow.🌶🌶
Beautiful.💛❤💛
