Paw Paw. Uncertain as to how long this self seeded tree will hang on. Seed planted itself in a dark spot and has been growing as it reaches for the light. Finally the leaning trunk weight has nearly uprooted the tree. Nothing I can do. Miraculously it still has enough life to produce fruit. #pawpaw #selfseeded

Pawpaw. Today's very surprising surprise. Never thought this self seeded tree would produce fruit as I thought its growing position to be too dark. Sooo sure it would not fruit I did not notice the female flowers, obviously the bees found them. The tree is reaching towards the light. More flowers up the stem that look like they will produce fruit. 🐝 #pawpaw #selfseed #gyo

Yellow Paw Paw. Supposed to be bi-sexual tree. So far, only male flowers. Planted 4 trees, one died from too much water; one was a victim of gardener's big boots. Hope the remaining one, which is yet to flower, is female. #pawpaw #pawpawmale

Paw Paw. #papaya #pawpaw. 4 planted Sept 2017. After a slow start and 1 loss due to heavy rain, now seem to have found happy ground. Highly nutritious with all parts #edible. I use seeds in salads for a peppery taste. Indonesian cookery uses flowers, young leaves and green fruit in stir fry. Tea can be made from leaves. Trees planted on my previous property produced a continuous crop of huge paw paw within six months of planting.
