Really happy how these Iris have mixed in so comfortably with the Rosemary, red Pineapple Salvia, purple Salvia and Cuphea as well as the flowing, strappyeaves if the Spider Lily. Might be able to do some garden tidying this week if the rain keeps moving away. #iris #iris-hookeriana

Iris Hookeriana. Hooker's Iris. Temperate region Iris from the Himalayan mountains of India and Pakistan. This Iris needs six hours of daily sunshine to bloom. A great Iris to grow in temperate regions that are too hot for the Dutch or Flag Iris. #iris #iris-hookeriana #purple

Sooo excited. Lighter coloured flower on right is my Hookers Iris, which has always thrilled me as it is the only Iris I can grow here in the heat, humidity or drought. Look what it has done for me. It has self seeded the darker flower on the left - and what a beauty, pure darkest purple velvet. Made my day. I can't stop looking at it. 😊🙃😊 💜💜💜

@anges also amazing is that I am the only one with this offspring. I let the seeds pop off to plant themselves. Wonder what surprises the other babies will be. Be watching seeds from this one very carefully.

Vertical floral arrangement I did today using Hookerai Iris from my garden as well as white roses and carnations with spinning Gum. Tapered up to nearly a metre tall. #irishookeriana

@brightcolours Katie I notice there are aprox four Iris with yellow throat incorrectly linked to the dictionary as Iris Hookeriana when they are 'Siberian Iris'. 🤔😐 Are edits made to the dictionary?

Iris Hookeriana. In a couple of months when this Iris finishes flowering, I will thin the clumps and plant with Angelonia. The surplus will be spread to garden areas that need vibrant colour and shared with friends. #iris #angelona #purple-iris #purple #irishookeriana

@richard.spicer.7906 thank you Richard. Love the Dutch Iris and spring bulbs that grow so well in UK and in southern States here too, but not in subtropics, so excited to find this variety. Be great if I could find drought tolerant and tropical sun loving hyacinth and daffodils too!

@brightcolours can't remember if I have shared this plant with you. It is a beautiful flower, well worth having if you would like some. After flowering finishes I will be dividing and spreading all through my garden to put some colour amongst the masses of lamandra the landscapers have planted. 🐝🐝🦋
