I have just bought a Salvia -- not sure where to put it ? What sort of area do they need ?

@whitesusan Depends on what type. Mostly, they like sun. This Costa Rica grows tall, loves the sun and needs to be cut off at ground at end of Summer. Do you have the name of your purchase?
