Schlumbergera truncata Gold Charm

Zygocactus 'Gold Charm'. Wonderful gold highlights on this flower. Although cacti, they are not a desert plant. Originate from Brazil growing as Ephiphytes on trees, in areas of high humidity and rainfall. Zygos bloom in Winter when the nights are longer and the days shorter. @lovestogarden Thank you Janice. The gold colour is accentuated when the winter days are warm. When it is colder, the flower has more pink tones.

I know it as a houseplant (though not in that colour) but can’t begin to imagine how wonderful it must be grown outside 💛

Schlumbergia. Zygocactus 'Gold Charm'. So many pretty shades of white, gold, pink in these cactus.This one is terribly neglected and still puts on an amazing display. Red tint on leaves is from too much sun. Now have them under shade. Will be trimmed after flowering to keep flowers on different layers. #zygocactus #zygocactus-goldcharm
