Vriesea 'Red Chestnut'. Repotted, cleaned up and happy. This plant needs filtered light without direct sun. Leaf markings turn deep chestnut red as plant ages. Red and gold 80cm sword like flowers emerge in summer. Nutrients are taken from the water well. Roots are for stability of the plant. I use NZ orchid bark, charcoal and perlite for my epiphytic orchids and bromeliads. This mix will not break down and keeps roots dry and disease free. #vriesea #vriesea-redchestnut
