Miltassia orchid. Three spikes on this beautiful and easy to grow subtropical orchid. Might have a trip to my favourite orchid grower to see if he has other colours. #orchid #miltassia-charlesmfitch

Miltasia Orchid. Bursting with flower spikes and bursting out of its pot. Rewarding, easy to grow orchid for subtropics. #orchid #orchid-miltassia

@philstalder They come in some dramatic animal patterns and colour variations. Easy to grow in warm Winter climates.

Thanks for the info Annette. Like I need another plant but.....now I’m going to look for some. Orchids grow easy here in Southern California. GC’s here stock common ones but there are several GC’s here that only have orchids. I try to stay away because I want all of them. Lol. 😂

@novicegardenlover this photo was taken with my Nikon camera which gets a better depth and clarity to highlight flower and give it more clarity against the leaves. Previous photo taken with my phone camera. Definitely a difference with the clarity of the petal pattern which is what I was trying to achieve.

Is this blooming now? Mine has shown no signs of bloom, but is healthy.

Orchid. Miltassia, Charles M Fitch 'Izumi'. Produces a wonderful show of metre long, mauve flower spikes through summer and autumn. Easy to grow, under shade and protected from wind, in the subtropics. #orchid #orchid-miltassia #miltassia-izumi
