I think this is a wigellia (not sure of spelling). Can anyone give me any tips on looking after it. It was lovely in spring full of pink flowers. Pruned it a little. Hoping I have done it ok.
@annmaz It's #Weigela Florida Variegata & yes you did right you prune it after it flowers and that gives it enough time to produce flowers for the next year. Just prune enough to keep in shape. Right hand shrub is called #Aucuba Japonica
@angipangi thanks for info and correct spelling of weigela lol. Hope it will flower as nice next year. I was told to plant banana skins under my shrubs. Have you heard of this?
@annmaz I put banana skins in my compost bin. The idea is that banana skins contain a small amount of potassium but plants need considerably more potassium to thrive well. Most people just give their plants a general feed which covers all necessary plant nutrients. I'm not sure how much good it does but it certainly won't do any harm. Maybe at some point you could start your own compost bin and put all your banana skins & veg peelings in along with your plant debris too. 👍🏻
Help me identify this plant
