The colours are kind of messed by the flash, but do you have any idea about what's going on with those front leaves?🤦‍♀️

Nothing really wrong, just the process the plant goes through, there a plenty of new health leafs growing. If there are any fine roots off the funny looking leafs. Just snap them off at the stem for new plants. Good luck

It actually seems to be getting worse @thehardygardener , many leaves fell and although some new ones are still coming out the bottom part of the branches looks off, plus some branches got really loose. I am trying to keep a closer look on it and hopefully save it😬

Oky keep a look out for mealy bugs and go easy with the watering

How would I know if there's a bug like that? The leaves falling seem all dried out should I still be watering it less?

Yes water in moderation, mealy bugs are disguised as wee balls of fluff, sticky fluff, hidden in the white fluff is a scale bug that eats the leaf, I put on my glasses and get a magnifying glass.

Weekly update/cry for help. Do you think they need to be watered? And any idea on why the left one might be looking so wrinkly and pale. (I wasn't yet able to repot them)

I am not sure, but may be due to lack of sunlight🌞

I'd like to propagate some of the leaves that fell from my cactus. Any advice on how to achive it?

heatherdirtyhands

I would lay them on some dirt and mist occasionally

Thanks @heatherdirtyhands I don't really have much spare dirt right now, do you think some cotton would still do the job?

U could them on the soil of one of your plants it doesnt have to be in a container of its own. I'm sure u could use cotton I just never heard of it. U can use perlite... Also they don't need anything at first really its just when the roots start growing they will need something like dirt or sand or something so they can grow into plants. U can water propagate them too if u prefer. Look up how to propagate succulent leaves in water. I can explain but it may be easier if u see pictures

Yes please do u just need to find a method that works for u. I heard of a woman who had leaves that fell off on her windowsill in winter and with the condensation from it she came back and found roots and babies so u will be successful soon. Have faith

Yes, indeed @heatherdirtyhands it's a matter of patience and luck I guess, but I'd be happy to at peast get one nice sprout to repot. We'll see if I find some succesful way or a good windowsill😅

I just tuck my fallen leaves back into the pot they came out of. Ignore it for a few months and then BOOM, baby plant.

Hey! I recently started to take more care of my succulents and I am happy about this journey. I am concerned about the the look of my anacampseros (at least i think that's what it is😅) it has lost some healthy leaves, lost most of the bottom ones and now some branches are starting to look looser or at least point towards the ground. I water it about once a week only if the soild is dry and it is in a pretty sunny spot inside my house. I would be really glas if you could provide some sort of hel

I'd start by giving it fresh compost. For succulents I use a mix of 50% compost to 50% grit. I'd avoid the premixed succulent compost because it's generally not very good quality. You could try watering it less, give it more sun and check for any bugs that could be causing the leaf loss.

Cool, thanks, I will try to find a place where I can find some good compost then! It gets as much sun as it can, the thing is that ut used to look super dry so probably I went too generous with water, it does actually look more translucent which I assume is a bad thing, hopefully I'll manage to keep this one alive, thank you ;)

Translucent leaves are definitely not good. You can order good quality ready mixed compost online if you need to (Surreal Succulents and Peng Succulents both sell their own mixes) but if you're building up a collection, it works out much cheaper to mix your own. When it comes to watering, give succulents a bit less than you think they need - it's easier to go back and give them more than it is to deal with an over watered plant. Fingers crossed that this little guy perks up soon! 🤞

Yep, I am a bit concerned by its look, hopefully I can still do something about it by following your advice, will definitely be checking for the mix, right now I only have those two succulents and I am not really willing to waste too much money on it since most of the plants I had so far did sadly die. Anyways I am looking forward to improve my skill and kill less plants😅

The potting mix looks to be pulling away from the edge of the pot, which indicates it has dried out?

4w

Soph1e

@aribo98 if those are your only plants, just buy a bag of ready mix from a garden centre. It's not great but it'll do the job for the time being and won't be that pricey.

@brightcolours that's true and with most plants, I'd say that it needed water, but succulents come in notoriously lousy compost and are often potted up with an inadequate amount of said lousy compost.
