A very pretty surprise this morning! This plant was given to me months ago, it was very sad looking but has grown well and today it flowered. ID anyone?

Thank you all...and @cyndi yes, I googled lesser galanga and I am sure it is it 😁..When it was given to me they said ‘you can eat it’ but nothing else lol....excellent ...I now have ginger, turmeric, and galanga growing.

I believe they do smell awful. Waiting for mine to flower for a couple of years now 😐

This plant is Huernia schneideriana. However, as you have entered all your plants via the 'garden' section instead of the individual 'plant' section, all of these are showing up under the ornamental ginger identified in the previous photo (which is how I've come across it just now). Hope this helps.
