Help me identify this plant. And help me know what to do with it. Its been losing leaves a lot lately. I'm sure it needs to be repotted. But its huge. Should I propagate and if so. How? 🤭

I think you are right Cyndi. Should I repost with a better foliage photo? I can't seem to attach one here

Looks like it could be Spekboom, but I can't really say for sure from this distance.

@cyndi thank you very much! I just added another photo with some tags 😊

@savannahssucculentgarden thanks, it looks like it could be! I added another better photo

@cyndi it used to look a lot better. A lot more foliage. Somethings not right with it lately.
Do the leaves change at all before they fall off? Turning yellow, shriveling, going translucent, drying up, etc?Any change at all?
@cyndi @savannahssucculentgarden there hasn't been any changes that I know of that would cause it. Maybe less watering but I thought I've been better about it and not seeing improvement.
@savannahssucculentgarden yes they do turn whitish, translucent then drying up. The leaves are generally all a nice green but now as you can see there's white around the edges
What kind of soil is it in?
@savannahssucculentgarden i don't even remember. I would guess regular soil not specific to succulents. I should change it out? Should I put it in a bigger pot as well or propagate?
If it's planted in regular soil and the leaves turn translucent before they fall, it's retaining too much moisture. I would probably just propagate at this point. You can keep the base of the plant and try to save it too. As long as the stem isn't already rotting, there's a chance it could grow more leaves. And yes, you should change the soil. Take a good look at the roots too and cut away any bad ones.
@savannahssucculentgarden thank you very much! And propagating looks like I should do it with stems not leaves right? And do you have any idea what it is?
Definitely stems, yes. Make sure you let the cut dry and callous before you put it in water or moist soil. Otherwise it will just rot. It is definitely what @cyndi said. Portulacaria afra variegata. Common names: Elephant Food, Elephant Bush, Spekboom.
