Clematis armandii 'Apple Blossom'

Thought this had died last year so really pleased 😁 #clematis #scented

This poor clematis really suffered in the bad weather. It had soooo many flower buds on it and after the snow all but a few fell off 😫 it has still made an effort for us though, even if the flowers are much smaller than usual. #clematis #fragrant #pink

@shelleyB it is indeed! It is quite delicately scented now, probably because it's only been in the ground since last year and therefore not very big yet. But it smells lovely 😊

@atomica it's now on my wish list and as I have a birthday in May I might be lucky and receive it 😏

@shelleyB you definitely deserve it 😜 I see you have a freckles which we have too ☺️ I find that slugs eat ours quite badly (both clematis,) but my mum (who lives in Hampshire) doesn't have the same problem so hopefully you're lucky!

I love this, how clever they are to be able to hold on like that! Ignore the copper tape, it was an attempt to deter slugs that did seem to help before it started to fall apart 😆

@susieg I know! I'm excited 😊 just hope it gets growing before the slugs arrive; they've already eaten some of my seedlings :( they ate this clematis so badly last year it only managed to put on about a foot of uneaten growth.

That's so frustrating 😏 I'm hoping the cold winter will have killed more of them off this year. ❄️ 🐌❄️ 🙏🏼
