29 March 2018 • The spider plant has been a #houseplant for over 200 years 😃I’m not sure if you can tell in this photo but the plant on the left is much paler than the one on the right. Same age, same compost, same watering, same well-lit room. Only difference is the one on the left has been on a West facing windowsill & the one on the right a North facing one. 🤔
200 years...?!
Apparently so Shanker 🤔 according to D. G. Hessayon, the font of all houseplant knowledge 😉 @lordshankar
Mr Hessayin knew a thing or two about plants....my first garden books many moons ago 😃 x x
He certainly did. My houseplant book is the 1980 edition...Still excellent 👌 @clipperty

Isn't the #spiderplant wonderful? It does all this without any help from us! 😉 #propagation #houseplant
17 Dec 18 • “Do you think my spider plant might need re-potting?” she says. I taught her everything she knows 😉😂😂
It might 😂😂
Perhaps! 😀
She’s trying her best to tell you 😂😂
I should have taken another photo of all the roots wrapped round in a circle at the bottom of the pot😃 Doesn’t seem to be doing it any harm though as it’s really healthy 💚 @novicegardenlover @anges @mich
Yep mine do that. I leave them quite a while before reporting anyway!!
And what do you report them for Alison? 😉😉😂 @bluefox23
Growing too quickly?!?! 🙄😂😂 it always does that! I forgot to check before I posted!!! Repotting!!!!
😂😂 Quite right too. Their roots grow far too quickly! @bluefox23
