Well this is a tough one Leslie. It was in the garden when we moved here *coughs* years ago and has been moved twice, including spending a year planted in a dustbin 🙄 It doesn’t have a lot of leaves but seems to put all its energy into large flowers 😃 @lesliecole49

It was the only clematis in the garden when we moved in. It hasn’t got any bigger in 20+ years but always has masses of these dinner plate-sized flowers 💚 @pelly

It was here when we moved in Rachel, so 20+ years old. It never seems to grow any higher but has so many flowers & buds this year. I do hope yours will have some too! 👍🏻😊 @rachelbrooks

Oh I didn't mean to Jacqueline! 😬 I have quite a few new Clematises this year, some have buds others don't yet so I'm happy with whatever flowers 👍🏼

I have a few on my wishlist. You can't have too many & I read a great article by Sarah Raven giving recommendations for Clematis varieties to get one in flower all year... 😍 @rachelbrooks

That's the plan Jacqueline! Have now added a couple of winter flowering varieties and am waiting patiently for my new Florida to flower, really excited about that one! They're beautiful plants and I agree, can never have too many! 👍🏼🤗

I am trying to do the same but know I won't quite make it. Winters here are just that bit too cold and wet but there are compensations so I'm not complaining. Not really. No I'm really not... @rachelbrooks 😊

Apparently this variety of clematis has been around since Victorian times. I wonder if Georgia O'Keeffe ever painted it...
