This is a hazel. If you look closely at the left hand picture you will see that the two branches have grown together. This is a natural phenomenon called #inosculation or self-grafting. What amazed me though is you can see that the left hand branch has some new leaves coming but, look down, and the branch is dead. So dead it has snapped 😃 #isntnaturewonderful 👏👏👏

Isn’t it just 😃 @ublaszko @lesliecole49 @juliesgarden
Spring is springing! If you have never seen hazel flowers then next time you’re out for a walk (and aren’t we all walking more at the moment?!) and see a hazel, look really closely and they will be there... 👀🌺#smallbutperfectlyformed
They’re so tiny aren’t they! 😍 unusual things
Yup . I feel like Forest Gump!!! Can't stop walking just to get out of the house !!
Absolutely teeny, weeny Kerry 😊😂@kez001uk
😂 I’m finding paths I didn’t know existed and I’ve lived here for 25 years 🙄 @charlotte
We are the same. Lived o Norfolk for 28 years. Thought we had done every walk . But no. If you study the OS map carefully there are so many walks. Today we did a 7 mile walk from a starting point we never imagined was a place to walk. It was beautiful.
That’s great to hear. Definitely one of the things to add to the list of “good things to come out of this *expletive deleted*” 👍😊 @charlotte
