On a cheerier note, the flowers on this are just beginning to open 💗 #daphne-bholua-jacqueline-postill
This will always make me think of you and Sam and taking ownership of Cambridge Botanic Gardens for a couple of hours 😂😘 @rachelbrooks @icedance
Same Jacq! Forever! Well of you and Sam cause I was already there! Think that sort of makes sense! 🤪😂 and didn’t you buy yours after that as well? Think you may have...still no sign of flowers on mine...
I did, so this is its first winter. I was so excited to see flower buds, especially as it had been growing in the shade of the aruncus so was a bit crooked and I had to splint it 🙈😬 I hope you see some soon but #theresalwaysnextyear @rachelbrooks
That is beautiful and even better when it flowers in January
Oops!! 😱🙈 Well maybe that’s where I’ve gone wrong...maybe I should treat mine a bit mean...😂😉 it’s ok...I’m patient...⏳⌛️🥱
And it has the most wonderful scent too David 👌 Worth looking out for as it doesn’t take up much space 😊@davyc
I know 🤷♀️ I didn’t spot it until it was really crooked but haven’t dared take its splint away yet 🤞@rachelbrooks
How exciting Jacq 😃 it must be very happy but then what Daphne wouldn't be in your garden 🙂 happy memories of that day 😘
How lovely to hear from you Sam. You are so kind 😘 I’m very happy with it and the scent is beginning to be released now and it is amazing. Thank you for the inspiration @icedance
I've been slack on many fronts I'm afraid Jacqueline 😱 but it's lovely to see your Daphne doing so well and remember that lovely day 😘

👀 👀 👀 What do you mean, “That’s not much to get excited about!” it is! It is! My first flowers and there’s lots of them 💜🤍💚 #daphnebholua #daphne-bholua-jacqueline-postill
‘S’okay, we get it on here! No need to explain 😆 It’s the simplest of pleasures and it does make you want to do a little garden jig to celebrate! X x x
Were you watching? 😉😂 @clipperty
Surely we should have a National holiday on your behalf?! 😆😉 that’s totes citing!! I’m going to check mine now...
I’ve got eyes everywhere 👁😁 x x x I’m up for a national holiday to honour this event! @rachelbrooks Gets my vote x x x
I’m so glad you’re with me on this one Rachel. I think we could have it every year, maybe on the 25th December. I mean there’s nothing much else goes on then is there 😜 @rachelbrooks @clipperty
Sounds like a plan, Stan! Let’s do it! Might even crack open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate! 🍾😉 @clipperty
Me too 🥂🍾 @rachelbrooks @clipperty 🥰😍 What about #jacqueline-postill-day Or maybe just #jacqueline-day 😉😂
Oh fabulous the scent is divine too I'm up for a national daphne holiday on the 25th I'll get another bottle of prosseco tomorrow whilst I'm out shopping, I wish this could be scratch and sniff too wouldn't that be fantastic 💚 @rachelbrooks @clipperty
I can’t wait for them to open Carol 😍 and yes, #daphne-day has a certain ring to it 🤩 Hey @ukgardentags why no #scratchnsniff or even #smell-o-vision yet? 😜😂 @carolgs @clipperty @rachelbrooks
Well why don’t we go the whole hog Jacq, and make it St Jacquelines Day?! 😉🤣 oh do you remember how fabulous the scent was at Cambridge BG? Could smell them way before we saw them! Just spectacular! 😍 and I checked mine...nuffink! 🙄 they’ll probably invent #smell-o-vision before mine gets any flowers! @carolgs @clipperty
Oh I like it! It definitely has a certain ring to it. Will there be special food? Turkey maybe? Yes I do. It was a_m_a_z_i_n_g 👌 @rachelbrooks

7 Feb 2019 • This is what I actually went to #larchcottage for...
Thank you Rachel 😘😘 And thanks to you both for inspiring me. I’m not sure if I’ve missed the flowers for this year, what do you think? @rachelbrooks @icedance
Bless you Jacqueline you two are both one of my top #inspiredby ...😘😘 Not just for gardening reasons... There's still time 👍 @rachelbrooks
Oh I hope so Sam! That would be wonderful, and thank you 😘😘 @icedance
Well you know I love ya both and admire you both for your amazing knowledge. But for your friendship even more so (totes emosh here 😉) but woohoo Jacq! How fab! 💚 and never say never! 🤞🏼🌸 @icedance
Emosh away Rach, love ya right back 😍 and you Jacqueline , only met you once but enough to know a heart of gold lies there 💓 sending vibes of flowering to your namesake J XX @rachelbrooks
Feelings mutual 😘😘 We need to rectify that Sam! Next time I’m down South... I’d love to go back to the Cambridge Botanic Gardens - when it’s not raining and about to close 😉😘😘 @rachelbrooks @icedance
Absolutely this time we will arrive in the garden in sun and with time to wander at will 😊 I mentioned to Rachel a round two sometime, and maybe a turn around the garden centre where I work ? X
That would be wonderful! 🤔 I just need to get my act together and get myself down there again 😊 @icedance
Ooh yes I’m definitely up for that my lovelies! When you next darn Sarf Jacq? It’ll be nice to see the garden! 🙈😂 and great to see where you work Sam 😘 @icedance
No plans. Tom is working now so doesn’t have to move out every few months and comes home by train. That doesn’t mean I can’t come up with an excuse though! @rachelbrooks @icedance
Just because...🤷🏻♀️😉 and because you need to see us of course!
Perfumed flowers and snow ❄️ #daphne-bholua-jacqueline-postill
Beautiful 🤩
I love Daphne....mine are a little behind 🌸
Thanks Sharon. It’s a beautiful shape too, slim and upright - just like me 😳🙄😂 @sharonhayden
Worth waiting for though aren’t they? I have a very small rock garden one that is showing no signs of flowering yet... @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
Absolutely they are.....have you ever cut yours back Jacqueline it’s just that mine is in the middle of a bed and could easily take over if I’m not careful..
No I haven’t Elaine. This one is almost columnar so I won’t need to. My pruning bible says to avoid if poss as they are very susceptible to dieback though it does depend on the variety. Which is yours? @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
Mine is called Daphne Odora...I’ve just checked the label and it doesn’t say anything about pruning but it says it grows to 100cm...it’s about that now so I might be lucky 👌🏼
Well...the bible says “D. odora tolerates light trimming to maintain a compact habit” 👍 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
#daphne-pruning-advice 😊
That’s good to know thanks for that Jacqueline..👍🏼
You’re welcome 😊 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
