3 Aug 2018 • So happy to see this has survived its first year: the coldest winter and the hottest, driest summer, and it has still flowered. It’s in almost complete shade too 💕 #pink 💕
Just love these. So underrated, they flower for months though it’s been a bit shorter this year, probably a bit hot and dry. Enjoy!
Thanks Joan. I am 💗 @joanboston
It’s gorgeous Jacqueline 😍💞😍
Thanks Alisa. I think so too 😊 @AlisaJ
Love this 💓💓
#bestofAugust #francoa #francoasonchifolia
Thanks Jane, me too 😊 @pelly
Thanks Katie! 😘😘 @brightcolours
Ohhhh....I love this plant, which I first saw in @jennielorraine garden. Luckily, she’s a keen propagater (new word?) so I had them in my garden too....but they have failed to come up this year no doubt due to the wevvah. Lovely to see your pic x x x
Hopefully you can get hold of some more? I put a cloche over it all winter as I didn’t think it would like our cold & wet... @clipperty
I’ll check wit( Jennie. I have had many of my best plants from her - so knowledgeable - brilliant lady! X x

7 February 2018 • Thought I’d give this little one some protection from the big, wide, cold world out there...
#winter #snow #overwinter
So much character!
Is that another way of saying old and tatty Katie?! 😉😂 @brightcolours
No!! Never even crossed my mind!!
#vintage #cloche #rusty Oh man, do I love this!! 😍 swooning!
I’m glad you like it! I have two and actually I think my OH made this one, about 20 years ago. He’s quite handy to have around 😉😂 @brightcolours @KariSamuel @columbiariver
He MADE it? 😲 Is he for hire in Wisconsin?
Oh I love the cloche! And clever OH to make that..
“If you pay my airfare. I’ll make you a bicycle frame too if you want!” 😂😂@KariSamuel
You still see new ones around occasionally so he copied one. 🤔 I wonder if he would make me another. It is rather nice 😊 @carolecuttingitfine
Yes you need to get him back on it! They are fab..

I really hope that the nursery who said this is great for #shade are right. It's not fully hardy but is close to the house... 🤞🏻
It's beautiful Jacqueline, but the info says full to partial shade. 🤔🤔🤔
It does Jane... but the plant info from the nursery says "Great for shade"! Time will tell 🕰⏰⏱ @pelly
I hope they're right Jacqueline xx
Me too Jane @pelly
10 Aug 2019 • 🤔 I’m not sure what to do. When I got this last year I’m sure I was told it would be happy in shade. Ever since, everything I’ve read says “full sun” but it looks very happy in “full shade”. What to do? Leave it where it is? It is very sheltered... 🤔
If it ain’t broke...I’d say leave it if it’s happy ☺️
Thanks Rachel. It’s got a slight wiggle on but apart from that looks happy enough and I’m tempted to leave it be. I asked about it at Eggelston Hall, where they had them to buy, and they were adamant it should be in full sun... @rachelbrooks
It will double in size next year split it in spring I did same with mine then you can have one in sun n one in shade..... Sorted 💕💖😘
I thought you had a special flower on your hosta when I first looked!! 🤦♀️ If it's happy leave it
Good plan Keely! Why didn’t I think of that? 🙄😉🤣 @Keely
Now that’s a hosta I’d have in a shot 😉😂 @carolgs
Me too
A Wiggle is good! 😉 and as I said earlier...Iceberg is s’posed to be in full sun. As is my jasmine...which is ginormous and planted in the shadiest spot in my garden 🤷🏻♀️😊
Just as well. Most of my plants have wiggles 🙄😉😂 That reminds me, must get my shears out for my jasmine, which has been stunning this year. I just love the scent 😍 @rachelbrooks
😂 mine too!! My Jasmine hasn’t quite finished flowering yet, so I’ll leave it be for the moment. Yes, the scent is divine! 😍
One of my favourite plants. Seems to do well in sun or shade. If it looks healthy, leave it and split a bit off in autumn. I’ve also grown it from seed quite successfully @keely @awomanonabike
