Can you post too many photos of a #snakes-head-fritillary ? I think not 😉😂😍
Definitely not 💕💕💕
👍😊 @pelly
Thanks Elsie 😊 @auricula
Nope 💖!!
I wouldn’t have thought so! 😉
I’m glad you both agree but then again how could you not?! 😍@juliesgarden @rachelbrooks
Def not. Fascinating little fleurs 😘 x x x
They are amazing aren’t they Claudia. Just love ‘em 😍 @clipperty

I have loved these since I was a teenager and first saw Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s painting of them on a birthday card in the shop where I had a Saturday job 💜💚 #fritillaria-meleagris #snakesheadfritillary
Exactly where my love of them comes from, (not the card shop, a CRM print! 😂) that and the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. Loved that book, must get a copy!
Voilà https://www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/category/all?search=Country%20diary%20of%20an%20Edwardian%20lady xx @rachelbrooks
Brill, thank you 😘 Ooh it’s nice having a personal shopper! 😉
You’re welcome 😬 @rachelbrooks
Just ordered! 👍🏼😘
Excellent. They are usually in really good condition. I hope yours will be @rachelbrooks

28 Mar 2019 • Just love watching these change and finally begin to open 💜🖤💚
They’re wonderful aren’t they 🐍
They are very elegant flowers, such beautiful shapes from start to finish 😍😍
Yes. I’ve loved them ever since I saw the watercolour of them by Charles Rennie Macintosh on a birthday card. Long before I ever saw them in real life. Actually these look very like the ones in his painting 🤔🎨 @kez001uk
Aren’t they just Jane 👌 @pelly
Have they started to flower? Mine sometimes start like that then seem to get stronger as the flowers develop 🤔🤔 @suzyw
They’re big beasts aren’t they 🐦 I hope they recover 🤞 @suzyw
@awomanonabike my mum adores all things Rennie Mackintosh, her Scottishness I expect 😂 so actually grow them for that reason 😁 lovely coincidence ☺️ and yes they do look very similar to his painting 😍
My Mum was Scots too and also adored all things Rennie Macintosh 🙌 🏴 @kez001uk
@awomanonabike oh wow! That’s quite a cool thing to have in common 😁
😂😂 There are definitely worse things 😉 @kez001uk

21 Mar 2019 • Not the most eye-catching photo but all the green shoots are snake’s head fritillaries. Seems my propagation technique is working. It’s called the “flick them as you’re walking past” technique 😉😂 #snakesheadfritillary #fritillaria-meleagris
Loads!
A tried and tested method, Jacqueline 🤣 Have a lovely day @awomanonabike
😂😂 I’ll have to give that a try.
Looking that way Denise. They seem to really like that spot @Denise16
I’m glad you agree Barbara. You too 😘 @jacaranda
Good luck Jane. It’s definitely a high-level skill 😜 @pelly
Ooh sounds similar to the chucking method! Can’t beat the simple ways! 😆
I use that for alchemilla mollis (the entire plant). Works wonders 😜 @rachelbrooks
🤣🤣🤣 I’ll give that a go!
😂🙄😂
Not a sign of mine, pretty sure they drowned 😔 or were washed out and eaten

Wow, amazing Jacqueline 👌👌

26 Apr 2018 • Still my favourite fritillary and it seems happy with me too, as it is self-seeding happily with just a gentle flick of the seed-heads 😉
One of my favourites too Jacqueline and I ended up with a lot more than I remember planting 😂🙄
Luvem..💗
Gorgeous 😍
They must like you too Jane 😉😊 @pelly
Me too Elaine 💜 I’ve ordered some white ones and really hope they will do as well... @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
Thanks Melanie 😊 @greenfinger14

15 April 2018 • I can’t see these without remembering the beautiful painting “Fritillaria” by Charles Rennie Macintosh. 💜🖤💜
Both are beautiful in their simplicity 😍😍
Absolutely Jane @pelly

23 February 2018 • Here are my #snakesheadfritillary Jane @pelly
They're definitely not like mine Jacqueline, I do hope mine are just being slow. 🤔🤔
Oh I do hope so too 🤞They are quite distinctive shoots, so you will spot them 👍😊 @pelly
I noticed flowers have started to develop on mine yesterday, I'll get a pic tomorrow, it's far too cold to go outside now 😂😂
Haha! ❄️❄️ Here too. The wind is biting. @sieveheadsarah
I bought a plant last year and there's no sign of that either!! 😞😞
Oh no, I’m sure there’s still time... @pelly
This is one I need to get. It is so neat! @awomanonabike
They get better than this Kim 😉 😂 @kimguy
Is this what yours look like Jane? @pelly
It’s so tiny, but it could be. I’ll post a pic Jacqueline 🤔🤔

Lots of lovely seeds just waiting to make new plants 💚
Cool shot
Mine have been green for ages. Can't wait for the seeds to come out! Do you know how long it takes from seed to new flower?
Thanks Catherine 😊 @houseofflowers
Good morning Mona. I'm afraid I don't. I'm very lackadaisical & just flick them around the place 🙄😂 🙁 @emve
No worries, @awomanonabike That's what I was going to do too. I was just curious. Hoping to have many -soon! 😉
I hope so too! They are so lovely & unassuming. They like damp & I can definitely give them damp 😂 @emve

You just can't take too many photos of these 💜🖤💜
Awesome plant 💟
I love them Jacqueline. I've only got one that I bought last week but I will certainly have more next year. 💜💜💜
And I can never tire of seeing them! They're delightful 😁
@bindin40 Small & only there for a short time but fabulous while it lasts 😎
@pelly Me too Jane. It has taken a while but they are now spreading. When the seed heads have dried I just give them a quick flick to release the seeds. Seems to be working 🤔😊
@jacq1075 Just as well! 😊😂
Keep snapping 💜💜
@juliesgarden Thanks Julie. There'll be no stopping me now 😊😊
Thanks for the tip @awomanonabike 💜💜💜
Yaaay 👏👏

Seeing these spread and multiply makes me very happy 💜💚🖤
Definitely having these next year Jacqueline 💕💜💕
Love them 💜💜
@pelly They are lovely aren't they Jane? Give them a damp, shady corner & they'll be happy 😊
@juliesgarden Me too Julie
@columbiariver They do Laura, but...only...very...slowly. At least in my experience 😉

They don't look like much now, but knowing they haven't been eaten by mice makes me very happy 😊
Or slugs 😂😂
😂😂😂Weirdly they don't seem to go for fritillaries, at least not in my garden. This also makes me happy. 😊 @pelly
Keep us posted when they open please.
Blimey! Mine are even showing yet! Let alone that big!!
Oh I will be doing Liam! No worries there @Opuntia
Really Rachel? My garden is so behind yours in every other way, maybe nature is teasing me 🤔 @rachelbrooks
I bought three pots of these today @ 79p a pot at the Range, well you can't have too many can you?😀
Only three Joan?! You definitely can't have too many, especially at 79p a pot 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 @joanboston
#fritillary #snakesheadfritillary
Well I'm hoping that these aren't going down the same route as my snowdrops - not going to come up. I did have the bulbs for quite a while before I planted them 😬
Oh, I hope they appear Rachel🤞 @rachelbrooks
It’s not all doom and gloom though…💜🖤 #fritillaria #fritillaria-meleagris-snakeshead
They look so delicate but as you say they survive everything our weather throws at them.
