15 February 2018 β’ This little #hellebore gets a teeny bit larger every year π

Gorgeous!!!

Thanks Kim π I wonder if it would be happier in a better drained bit of the garden but it seems to be surviving π @kimguy

Thatβs gorgeous, what lovely colours ππ

Thanks Jane. Itβs a lovely little one, very different from the others I have but so sweet @pelly

They usually prefer a well drained area but if it's doing good then that's great @awomanonabike

...thatβs why I worry but it seems happy so Iβm not moving it yet... @kimguy

This little beauty isn't really fully frost-hardy but it seems to have made it through another winter... #hellebore

Doesn't look any worse for wear ππΌπΈππΌ

I don't think I had clocked that it wasn't fully hardy until adding it just now. Hey! Ho! It seems to be surviving π @rachelbrooks

Very pretty Jacqueline @awomanonabike ......didn't realise some were not totally hardy :)

Very delicate π

All the H. x hybridus are fully hardy Pauline (though mine sometimes look like they're wilting if it gets very cold) but I think both this one, which is also sometimes called Majorcan H., and H. Argutifolius (Corsican H.) don't like it below about -5. I think you can get away with it though if they are in free draining soil... @flof1952

It's really sweet isn't it Debra @debs69

Very elegant muted colours. π

The leaves and stems are lovely too & provide a great background to the flower Susie - not that you can tell from the photo! @susieg

I bet. I think hellebores are such brilliant plants π

Me too Susie. And to have something so beautiful in the garden at this time of year, adds so much value ππ @susieg
When this didnβt flower last year I thought maybe I was going to lose it but no! It is back. In all its glory π #hellebore #helleborus-lividus
Iβve kept mine in the tunnel for now, didnβt want to risk it as Iβd heard these were tender ish - that flower looks lovely!
There are plenty more π I thought it was fairly tender too but decided to risk it and itβs doing OK outside (if you ignore last year π) @richard.spicer.7906
