18 Jan 19 • It really is cold out there this morning. If your #hellebore is doing this, don’t panic! It will pop back up again as soon as the temperature rises again ❄️🌸❄️
Yes mine all looked very sad this morning😕 @awomanonabike
My fatsia looked like that this morning ❄
It’s wonderful how they recover though isn’t it 😃 @cee @ublaszko
They'll be standing to attention in no time. Just need the temperature to go above 0 degrees.

14 Jan 18 • It’s OK. I’m going to stop now but not before I show you this little sweetie. One of the many seedlings that pop up around the garden. You never know what they’re going to look like 😃
Wow that's going to be beautiful 😊😊❤❤
Gorgeous 💜
I think it’s going to be a little stunner. Will keep you posted Christine 👍😊@midnightgardener
Thanks Michelle 😊 @mich
Evening Jacqueline @awomanonabike looks interesting can’t wait to see it open 😬😍😘
Me neither Suzie 😃😃 @jadojado29
I love the garden surprises self sown flowers bring.
Me too. I’m no good at weeding seedlings. I always think if it’s managed to germinate it deserves to grow 😉😂 @Annettenoosa

14 Jan 18 • Almost... #hellebore
I have so many almosts, it's not like I'm impatient honestly Jacqueline 🙄😂
😂😂 All that anticipation! @pelly
I know, I just need some colour 🙄🙄
It is that time of year isn’t it. It won’t be long Jane and it will all happen so fast you won’t be able to keep up 😍 @pelly
It is Jacqueline, and I can't wait not to be able to keep up 🙄😱😂
Bring it on 🙌 @pelly
Ill 2nd that!!! @awomanonabike bring it on! 🤗🌺🌻🌷🥀🌼🌸🏵
Now don’t shout but...I actually really like this time of year. I like the quietness of it, the easy pace, if you now what I mean, plus the anticipation of everything that is about to come 🙊 @SylviaDavies @pelly
I know what you mean... its exciting seeing all plants starting to bud and get ready... daffs emerging from the ground.... a gentle awakening!!
I also like that there aren’t that many yet so I can actually take notice of them all 🤔 Yes, a gentle awakening. The best kind 😉😂 @SylviaDavies
I know what you mean its like every single change and stage is recognised... the camera wont know what's hit it. Lets hope feb and march arent too harsh!!!

17 May 2018 • The hellebores aren’t finished quite yet...
Gorgeous plants!
try cutting back. to rich of soil. use bloom booster fert. @Jasonsparkes1
I can't believe how long mine have been in flower this year too. 😊
Gorgeous 😍
What a shame Jason. Too much love? I’ve a botanist friend who reckons things flower best when they think they’re about to peg it! @Jasonsparkes1
It was such an awful winter for the evergreens wasn’t it Pam but these have loved it 🙄🌸 @tiger123
Thanks Melanie 😊 @greenfinger14
Yw N morning Jaqueline 👋😘
I do have one that hasn’t flowered since I bought it. I almost lost it so dug it up and put it in a pot. Still nothing. Maybe it’s the variety 🤔 @Jasonsparkes1

19 April 2018 • The hottest April day for 70 years and the hellebores are still hanging on in there 🌺
Fantastic! Next year I'm going to get every type of hellebore I can get my hands on 😂😂😂 I've really grown to appreciate them this year, how useful they are in the garden and how many varieties are available.
They are fantastic plants. I was amazed to read yesterday that Rachel didn’t start her fantastic collection until coming onto GT... 🌺🌸🌺 @rachelbrooks
Thank you Lynda 😊I could be pushed to call them essential 🤔😉😂 @LyndaClack
Oh but they are Jacqueline! What else flowers so beautifully through the winter and doesn’t even let the snow faze them?! And you have several here that are essential for my garden! 😉
And you have several that are essential for mine 😉 @rachelbrooks
Beautiful flowers
Thanks Jason 😀😀They have lasted so long this year - one of the benefits of the awful weather. The only benefit 🙄 @Jasonsparkes1
Thanks Karen. If you don’t already have any hellebores now is a good time to get some, as GCs often sell them off cheap as they are beginning to go over now @msmackie
Lovely mix.....👌🏼
Thanks Elaine. They are little stunners aren’t they? @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
Ok so I’ve just had a look at propagating then...the oriental hybrids can be divided apparently...the foetidus can’t. So as I think all of mine are hybrids (?) if there’s one or two or more you fancy, let me know and I shall give it a go! 😬

Any thoughts? It’s hard to make out but this is a collection of hellebore stems that have been carefully removed and dragged about a foot to under a nearby heather 🤔🤔🤔 I’m baffled!
How odd 🤔🤔
They've actually broken off the stems from the plant? Gosh maybe a bird is planning to nest under the heather and took a fancy to them🤔
I can’t work it out at all. Squirrel? Rabbit? @pelly
Yes Denise. The stems have been nibbled so they broke off. Bizarre! 🤔🙃🤔 @Denise16
Spoken to Neil and he says it's unlikely to be either of them. Could it be something coming in from the river? 🤔🤔
How strange! Do give us an update if you happen to catch someone in the act. The penalty should be severe, as those look like very nice hellebores. Hope there are some flowers left on the plant?
I have no idea at all Jane. I wonder if any of the fans of #wildlifewednesday would know 🤔 @pelly
I will Mona, and don’t worry it’s a lovely big clump 😊🌺 @emve
🤥🤔😯😡
If you get an answer will you let me know, I’m intrigued now? 👍👍
Yes of course... 🤔🤓 @pelly

15 March 2018 • I promise this is the last...but I can’t ignore the ones that have appeared as if by magic. You just have to love a #hellebore
It’s hoooge! 🙌🏼
😊😊😊 @rachelbrooks
Is it really from Rosa family (Rose 🌹) ??
Hi Jyoty, No they aren’t in the same family as rose. They are in the family Ranunculacaee. They must get their common name as the flowers look a bit like a simple rose. Christmas ones in Dec-Feb (in theory!) & Lenten ones around Feb-Apr. 👍😊 @jyotu

This is what #hellebore do when they get very cold. No need to panic though, they soon perk up ☀️🌺
Such drama queens! "Look at me, I'm dying!!! Oh, OK. I'm fine now. Look at my pretty flowers." Very entertaining!
😂😂😂 @emve
Beautiful ❤️🐾
I was in panic mode a couple of times this winter when my Hellebores looked like this but now I know their pattern! @emve perfect way to describe it 😂😂
Not all of them are as resilient, unfortunately. I've had a few flowerstems go to mush on me from frost damage, especially on my nigers and the Painted bunting @riakat @awomanonabike
They are prima donnas! @riakat @emve
They are again now Carol! @cazash
I did panic when I saw mine like this for the first time! And perfect commentary Mona! 😂😂👍🏼 @emve

Isn't it wonderful when a self-sown seedling is in just the right place? #hellebore #selfseed
Yes!
😊 @brightcolours
I have them too. And feverfew. And aquilegia. And spurge. One of the effects of not being a very tidy gardener! @Jasonsparkes1
#selfseed
Ooooo lovely 😍
Fabulous 🤗🤗
That's my excuse too Jason 😉@Jasonsparkes1
Thank you 😊 @Hellebore @susieg
Looks at the buds on her! 👍🏼 It's Mother Nature doing what she does best! 👍🏼 I do wish she'd stop giving me Elder seedlings though! 😬😉
Everyone is posting such beautiful photos of hellebores in flower but I will be able too soon, I hope @rachelbrooks I might give photos of elder seedlings a miss though 😂
Well that is going to look magnificent when they do all open! 👌🏼💜 I have a nice 10' seedling I can post! 😱
Not long to wait 😍 #hellebore
Mine don't wanna leave the ground 🥶
They’re going to be spectacular 🥰
I can’t say I blame them @hebelover
I love them. Can’t wait Barbara @jacaranda
Gorgeous selection you have there
Thank you Sharon. They are such great plants. They are so tough and reliable yet also beautiful when there is little else in the garden in flower 🌸🌺 @sharonhayden
