These looked so lovely in yesterday’s sunshine 😎 Hard to believe it now as the wind and rain hammers against the windows... #iris-reticulata-spot-on

Gorgeous little things braving the winter weather.

Oh wow! These are amazing! Love em!

They are aren’t they Joyce 😊💜 @joycemb

They’re fab aren’t they Jackie. And so easy to grow 😊 @jmlincoln

These are gorgeous 💜🤍💛🖤 I’m not sure I’ll get a flower on mine this year, they look too small, but I can enjoy yours instead!

They are really sweet aren’t they Laura @columbiariver

Thanks Rich, you’re welcome! 😊What do you do with yours each year. Do you dig them up and split them? 🤔 @richard.spicer.7906

They’ve historically been in pots but I struggle with the watering and I think the periods of very wet versus very dry between watering was not doing then good. So In autumn I replanted all that I had left in new bulb beds on the ground in the polytunnel - the beds help improve the drainage with excess water, and hopefully help them not desiccate too much over summer. Time will tell!

🤔 I hope they do well. I think my main challenge is to stop them either being eaten or rotting 🙄 @richard.spicer.7906

19 Feb 2019 • This was the first of the #iris-reticulata to flower so is currently my favourite 💜🧡

😂 makes sense 😉 well it is rather gorgeous 💜

I think the one on the left is striking a pose. Arabesque style? Arms over her head? No? Oh never mind 😉 *goes back to staring at clouds* @rachelbrooks

I can see her! 🙆🏻♀️👯♀️👍🏼😉

Another beauty 😍💜

It's very lovely Jacqueline, enjoy your clouds 💜💜

🙌 @rachelbrooks

I love the colours in this one and it’s so teeny @richard.spicer.7906

Thanks Jane @pelly

This one was a variety I wanted to get last autumn but they were the first to go out of stock 😅😍😍

Take a look at http://pottertons.co.uk/pott/ Urszula that’s where I got mine from last year. It’s a wonderful little, specialist nursery 👍 @ublaszko

That's it. I'm done for 😅😅

5 Feb 2019 • This opened this morning...”Let not death boast its conquering power. She’ll rise a star who died a flower”. Thinking of one #inspiring woman today @nessas who has left the most wonderful garden as a gift to her grieving family. Thinking of you 💜🌟

That’s beautiful...flower and verse..💜

That’s so lovely Jacqueline..such beautiful words for Vanessa 💜💔

What beautiful words @awomanonabike 💜

Beautiful words Jacqueline, she was truly inspirational and a lot of my garden knowledge is thanks to her 💜😍

Oh dear, what has happened to our @nessas ? I can't find anything, I've missed too much.

So lovely 💜💜💜

💜💜

Oh Leslie, I’m so sorry but Vanessa has died and it is her funeral today. 😢 @lesliecole49

😢what on earth. That’s sudden

Far too sudden and far too soon Angie @ada31514

22 Jan 19 • #NewShoots are so exciting 😃 #iris-reticulata

Ooh that looks a fabulous colour already! 💜🖤💜

It’s very exciting isn’t it?! I’ve never grown these ones before... and wouldn’t be growing any if it weren’t for GardenTags peeps and Rich in particular 😘😘 @rachelbrooks @richard.spicer.7906 @ukgardentags

Hmm 🤔 I think he was responsible for mine as well Jacq! Not that I mind...because they are rather lovely! 😉 @richard.spicer.7906

He’s a very responsible man 😉😂 @rachelbrooks @richard.spicer.7906

I love these 💜💙💜 I got my first ones on the off chance from Waitrose and I've been in love with them ever since. For me, they're the harbringers of spring, not snowdrops 😍😍😍

Do you grow then in the ground Urszula or in pots? @ublaszko

Both. 😂 Suprisingly, they did well in the ground last year although it's a sort of raised bed (I'm saying 'sort of' because someone just piled a layer of topsoil on top of builder's rubble and heavy clay 😂). I added lots of manure compost to improve drainage in the beds. I'm growing 2 new varieties in pots so I can see the colour first before I add them to the others.

😂😂 I have a bed like that 😉😂 It’s actually where I put some reticulated Iris that I had had in pots last year. No sign of them yet... @ublaszko

😂😂 Mine seem to flower every other year but that's still good, considering the comments I've read about iris reticulata rotting away.

I will go and have another look as soon as I dare ❄️🥶❄️ @ublaszko

Mine are opposite the kitchen window so I'll just wait with a hot cuppa 😉

13 Oct 18 • According to #pottertons this is a new variety 💜

Also a lovely variety 👌🏼

I got a bit carried away. I was only going to get JS Dijt 🙄😂 @richard.spicer.7906
The new ones may be a bit of a mixed bag but this makes me very happy. It’s the first time a reticulate iris has survived in my garden 💜🧡 #iris-reticulata-spot-on #iris-reticulata
brilliant hopefully it will spread... 👍
That would be unbelievable 😃I suspect true bank voles will find it first! @chrisanthemum
