When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, peonies, philadelphus...

Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote' syn. Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote Blue'

1 Aug 2019 • Even I thought I might have left it too late to cut this #lavender back (it was mid-May) but it doesn’t seem to have done it any harm 💜

Just read the GT instructions for #lavender-pruning which says prune hard after flowering. You might be able to do that in warmer climes but here in the North of England you’d risk losing it over the winter. Here, I trim away the flowers in late summer but prune hardish once I think we’ve had the last frost...

18 Jul 2018 • The lavender is literally moving with all of the bees on it 🐝 💜 🐝#wildlifewednesday Also reassuring, as every year I worry that I have taken too much off the lavender and pruned it too late 🙄😊

This may not look like lavender but from the smell of the leaves I'm sure that is what it is. I found it in between the paving & can only think I must have piled up some lavender prunings nearby. A good reason for not being too tidy in the garden, in case you need an excuse.
