When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, peonies, philadelphus...

This is the first of three seedlings that survived and that I’ve potted up. They were given to me by a friend last year and I really don’t want to lose them but not sure they will survive our wet winters. Has anyone north of Watford Gap got any experience with them? 😉 #edelweiss #leontopodium

I have had it for a couple of years and it overwintered ok in our wet soil. It’s flowering really well this year Jacqueline @awomanonabike

Thanks Joan. That’s good to know. I’ll probably plant out two of them and keep this one in its pot 🤔 @joanboston

8 Oct 2019 • I’ve just been given these #edelweiss seedlings. I’ve never grown them before but think they probably need to be outside, out of the rain but getting cold ❄️ Any ideas anyone?

Thanks Leslie. I’m guessing they must be pretty tough as long as they don’t get too wet 🤔 @lesliecole49

I will put them in the cold frame and see how they get on... @pelly

They are a tough little alpine type flower. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/edelweiss/edelweiss-in-the-garden.htm

Thanks Leslie! The absence of winter rain may be a challenge here 😉😂 @lesliecole49
