16 May 2018 • Me and the dog rose have been doing battle too, not that you can tell. Again, I think it won...

🤤 didn't realise it could get that high. Best keep on top of mine then!

I haven’t pruned it for a while... = years 🙄😂 It always behaves itself in hedges @Diane76

Eekkk 😂😂

Well that depends on your bruises...

Crikey its a Great Dane!! That’s mahoosive!!

😂😂 Amazingly not only no bruises but no scratches or thorns in my hands either. Not sure how I got away with it @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Yup! I have kind of left it to do its thing but it was getting a bit ridiculous 🙄 @rachelbrooks

Well you know I’m all for letting them do their own thang!! Tis lovely 💚

It’s one of those plants I just tend to forget about but it doesn’t seem to mind 🙄 @rachelbrooks
31 Jul 2019 • Good morning from a damp Cumbria. This is a #rose-gall or #rose-bedeguar-gall also known as #robinspincushion It’s all rose but caused by the gall wasp. You can read more about it here https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=826 #isntnaturewonderful #wildlifewednesday
Wow ,how fascinating Jacqueline 😃👍🏻
Morning from an equally damp Lincolnshire Jacqueline. I've not seen this before, it's actually quite facinating 🙋👍
They really are Julie, and quite beautiful in their own way @juliesgarden
They’re amazing aren’t they. The wasp larvae overwinter inside apparently. I bet you spot one now next time you’re wandering down a country lane 😊👍 @pelly
😂 How did you know? And we’ve not even met! 😉🤣 @linfoster
I hope so 👍😄
I’ve still never seen one! Amazing structures!
This is the first I’ve seen this year but they are fairly common I think Rachel @rachelbrooks
That's amazing, I've never seen or even heard of them Jacqueline.
They are fantastic aren’t they. I think they mainly grow on dog roses and are most commonly seen in August apparently, so next time you’re taking a wander down a country lane I hope you spot one 😃😊 @sieveheadsarah
I'll be going on lots of walks now Jacqueline, just so I can find one 😀
