This flower was still open this morning, and some of its buddies had joined the party, so.. group photo!

Oh my 🌸that's amazing

It's ridiculous how big this flower is compared to the cactus. 😂

There she is! And she’s a pink one. Yay! Beautiful! 👏👏👏🌞

Turns out it's a night bloomer! To anyone who took a guess at what the color would be, the answer is flamingo pink with a coral midstripe. Too bad it didn't open the same night as the white one. I could have tried to cross-pollinate them. If it's still open when I get up in the morning then I'll take some pics in daylight.

Cactus flowers are amazing 🤩

WOW!!!😍

Don’t you just love looking into that throat? And how’s the smell?💐🌞

Wowzers it's amazing😍

@sunlovin I don't usually think to sniff cactus flowers, but this time I actually did! It's got a mild, musky sweetness to it, but there's an underlying stink to it. Like you take a couple whiffs, and then realize you just really don't want to do that anymore. 🤣

Oh, ok. I guess it’s different from my Trichocereus because that’s real perfumy. Even though the flowers are identical. 🤔🌞

@sunlovin I guess cactus flowers can smell as different from one another as other flowers do. 🤔

Wth, it's nearly midday and I'm still waiting on this red thing to bloom, but the night bloomer behind it is still open..? 🤨

Open open open ☝️

It’s teasing you 😁🌞

Go away for 10 minutes lol!

@philstalder @sunlovin @cactusbob RIIIIGHT?? Jeez! It didn't bloom all day, so I guess tomorrow is going to be the day.

I have a ton of orchid cactus doing the same thing. Drives me 😜

Night blooming Echinopsis subdenudata 'Domino' putting on a display tonight, and the bulging red bud on the Echinopsis to the left should be open in the early morning. Today I learned that after a lil bit of post-production color adjustment the globe string lights around my patio the Night Shot camera mode on my phone actually kind of makes for a better photo than any lighting that daylight provides. 🤔

It is amazing what all the different light effects will have on a photo. Even at before dusk, it gives it a pretty warm glow instead of the harsh sun I find. 🌞

Look at all that gorgeous prickly babies 🌵

Wow great photo 🤩

Echinopsis subdenudata 'Domino'. Night bloom! It first opened a little after midnight, and this is at 2am. It might open a bit more, but I don't feel terribly inclined to stay up for it.

I’m always tempted to get a night camera and see what pollinated it at night. 🌞

Beautiful!

Taking bets on the flower color! 😆 I'm hoping for something red, but the outside of the bud is never a good indicator. It'll probably open early tomorrow. Hope I don't miss it!

Orangish?

Hmmm? Seems pretty dark. You haven’t seen it before?🤔🌞

@sunlovin nope! First time blooming, EVER. It was just a lil baby when I got it.

You’ll probably get the surprise tomorrow 😁🌞

That's exciting😃I say red as well👍

It's Echinopsis season! Everything is slowly developing buds. 😁

Working on its first bud ever! I snapped off several pups recently bc they were starting to crowd the cactus next to it, so maybe it has some energy to spare. 🤷🏻♀️

Have you seen the flower yet? 🌞

@sunlovin nope! It was very small when I got it and has never flowered for me yet. It seems to have really grown a lot this past year!
Last photo of this guy. Promise! 😆
When you like a plant so much you just want everyone to feel the same. You know I do it too. Lol 😆

Don’t say last. Your going to hurt his feelings. Lol Do like a shadow shot of this guy. 🙏🏼💗
Absolutely gorgeous, no keep am coming😍
@docthrill @dadayba @crabby58 Nope, sorry, that's all she wrote! This flower is DONE. They only last a few hrs, so as it was closing up I tried pollinating it with the orange bloomer on the right (pretty sure it won't work anyways) and bade it farewell. 😜
We are too late! 😆
Outstanding 😍
