I way underwatered this guy for a long time after getting it bc I was afraid to rot it out. I finally got tired of it being so deflated and not growing at all, so I started watering the crap out of it, come what may. It finally plumped back up, and even has some new growth! Hoping to still see a flower this year, bc I've only seen it once before, and it was already wilted by the time I saw it.

Isn’t it weird that some tubercles have spines and some don’t? I have one like that. 🤔🌞
@sunlovin yes!! Idk what determines it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Looking online, some are all needly and some are all spineless. The only bigger one I've seen irl had a random smattering of needles all over. Seedlings seem to be full of needles. It's all so inconsistent, I can't figure it out!
I have 2 spineless ones and 1 with some spines. All the same variety. 🤔 🌞
