Plectranthus

Bought this from a lovely online succulent site, labelled as an unknown Plectranthus. Smells like herbs to me ☺

I have a lovely #fragrant citrus-scented #Plectranthus

Some are #oznative

@brightcolours I never knew they were scented (most succulents aren't) so it was a great surprise ☺

I didn't know they were succulents! "In botany, succulent plants, also known as succulents or sometimes fat plants, are plants having some parts that are more than normally thickened and fleshy, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. The word "succulent" comes from the Latin word sucus, meaning juice, or sap." From Wiki

@brightcolours They better be, I bought it off a succulent website! Admittedly, the photo they posted looked more "succulenty". From http://succulent-plant.com/families/lamiaceae.html "Plectranthus; a genus of about 300 species of tropical herbs to shrubs of which about 30 have a marked degree of succulence including leaves, stems and tuberous roots". So I suppose they're borderline ☺

None of mine have, not that I have many. 4 down, 296 to go... 😉 #tuberousroots

@brightcolours @becky plectranthus are in the lamiaceae family which also includes a lot of common herbs such as mint, oregano, sage. All plants in the lamiaceae family have squarish stems. Some plectranthus are succulent.
