Dahlia 'Noordwijks Glorie'

Good afternoon everyone! Had a very late start to the weekend after unintentionally sleeping past 10am! However, I felt great when I got up, so ventured outside for the first time this week - and look what I found! It's #dahlia 'Noordwijks Glorie' and it's looking fantastic! At last, a Dahlia I can be proud of this year! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! 😀

It really is something! Love how it fades from orange to peach. Superb! How do you keep snails and slugs away from it? I can't seem to keep my dahlias alive long enough for them to flower

@ublaszko - Thanks Urszula! I'm afraid I use slug pellets as they're the only effective way I've found to keep the slugs and snails from destroying them! Trust me, I've tried probably everything else from copper bands, egg shells, sharp sand, roast coffee grounds, beer traps - none have been effective for me! 😀

I've tried all the things you mentioned including slug pellets. I'm still getting loads of snails, especially the really tiny ones. I gave up on dahlias and now I noticed my chrysanthemums are being destroyed too. Also, the slug pellets I have seem to get mouldy. I think the weather's just too wet and humid where I am 😅

@ublaszko - Oh I'm sorry they didn't work for you! Have you tried a different brand? Some do seem to be less resilient to rain than others! ☺

I haven't yet but that will be my next step. 👍
