Good evening all! Hope you've been enjoying the good weather! I've been spending some time setting up a new aquarium with live plants! Fish keeping is supposed to be relaxing, but today I've had a frustrating time tying Java Fern to driftwood using fishing line! Looks great in the aquarium because the line is invisible - which is a real problem when you're trying to tie knots in it and you can't see it! 😀

Looks lovely foliage bet the fish will love it 🐠🐠🐠💚💚💚

@Keely - I hope they will! I'm planting a mixture of real and artificial plants in this tank and am interested to see if the fish prefer one or the other! 😀

@Keely - Well they nibble at the artificial ones in my other tanks so it will definitely be interesting to compare! I don't normally do live plants in my tanks but I thought I'd try some low tech ones and see how I get on! 😀

@bigemrg looks fab, I only ever use live plants in my tanks, so far I have found the broader leaves collect debris but the smaller, taller bamboo types look good and stay cleaner. Love the fern idea 😍

@katgreen - Thanks Kathryn! I've never had much luck with live plants before, but this time around I'm going with supposedly easy ones like Java Fern, Anubias, Moss Balls and Hornwort! My shrimp love cleaning up my artificial plants so I'm hoping they'll do the same for my real ones too! 😀
