@charlotte Thanks for asking. He’s making good progress and there was talk he’d be home yesterday but he’s still in hospital. They want to make sure other kidney is giving stable readings. Hopefully he’ll be home over weekend, Monday at the latest (which is his birthday!! 😏)

#advice why is my #crocosmia #lucifer not flowering? I planted the bulbs last year and both last year and this year, they’ve come up blind. Have I planted them in wrong place? 20/06/19 #montbretia

@jaynehynesburton I saw someone else’s flowering on here and wasn’t sure if it was too early. But I thought it might have been showing signs of sending out flowers?

I had some in the other house, but cant remember when it flowered, yours looks healthy, give it a while

Still way too early they should flower this year

@bluefox23 it likes full sun, but unlike bulbs they get bigger and better every year as the clump thickens.. looks ok, give it time.

If the corms are compacted it prevents flowering, does it need splitting?

Some smaller corns may take a couple of years to produce flowers make sure you split them when they get too compact as that prevents flowering too 👍😮

Ok thanks @sadieberg and @Keely They were bought new and planted this spring so it's their first year in the garden. Only 3/6 corns produced leaves. Hopefully I'll get flowers next year then. I'll remember to split them when they get compact. 👍🏼😊

Proper depth and enough moisture can also be a factor @bluefox23 😁

@debrascott it's over a month since I planted these bulbs. Do you think they will shoot up or is it too late? Are they duds? Should I dig them up to check on them? I planted a calla lily bulb after these and that's already sent up shoots. 🤷‍♀️😞
