#guzmania #bromeliad #advice #advice-bromeliad do I need to cut the mother plant out? Will it just shrivel up? I don't want it to impact on the pup, which is now so much bigger and hopefully going to flower next year. 😊 #indoorplant #houseplant 04/11/18

The baby is now taller than the mother plant and the newest leaf has a tinge if red so think/hope it is developing its flower 😊 #guzmania #bromeliad #foliagefriday 21/09/18

So pleased this #guzmania #bromeliad has a pup. Don’t know if it’ll flower this year or if I’ll have to wait but I don’t mind!!
#advice #advice-bromeliad @gjones A while ago you told me about cutting back the original mother plant on this #guzmania #bromeliad but I’m not sure how far to cut it back. So I took 4 photos of possible positions I might cut it back. Which of these would be the best place, or should I dig it up and cut it out further down and then repot the ‘pup’?! Thanks for your help, or anyone else that can advise. 😊 21/01/19
Great, thanks @cyndi and @gjones I’ll take the plunge when I get back home 😊
