@kez001uk I have 4 propagated plants that I saved from an overgrown mother plant and 2 of these I have neglected a bit more and their leaves are a bit yellow. But I know with a bit of care and attention they’ll perk up.

@bluefox23 oh so they can come back from yellowing leaves? I was going to cut it right back but didn’t know if it would grow back 🙈 you do so well with propagating!

You could always just propagate from it instead. Some things I can propagate easily but not always 😊 @kez001uk

@bluefox23 I’ve taken a few cuttings today so won’t be so bad if I lose it, it’s babies can take its place 😛 rooted a piece in water a few weeks back and just potted that up so here’s hoping for rejuvenated kalanchoe 😁

Like that it’s a double didn’t know they had doubles. Seems like there’s becoming more and more flowers that are “doubled” Yey!!!😊💕

Feeling very sad and low today as it was confirmed yesterday that my partner is being treated as if he has kidney cancer so they would have to remove whole kidney however because his other kidney is not functioning well he would end up on dialysis plus all the other risks associated with an operation to remove a kidney. So have a couple other meetings to go to before he/we decides whether or not to risk the operation or to see what happens if he doesn’t. 😢😢😢

Hi Alison, so sorry to hear your news. I'm going to share our experience of this - my mum in law who is nearly 87 has kidney cancer. She was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago, she couldn't have the operation so they've treated her with a couple of lesser ops and radiotherapy. Cannot fault the care she's had from the NHS. There is lots of advice and support out there too, so don't be afraid to use it and ask questions to help you decide on the way ahead. Thinking of you. Xx @bluefox23

I like it when you buy them a bit overgrown, and those old leaves drop off and all the fresh ones sprout out!.. Do you know what I mean?..

Cataloging propagated double pink kalanchoe potted on 10/06/18

16/05/18 ok so it was covered in these scales things so made tough decision to get rid! Just took a few cuttings to try and propagate and I’ll see what the bit left on main stem does. It was a straggly plant anyway, a gift from about 5 years ago but if I can grow new ones that look better and are healthier, so be it!! All that while cooking dinner!!! Couldn’t wait! Plants take priority!! 🙄😂

@cyndi great thanks. After reading that, think I did best thing by cutting rest of and chucking it, sad as it sounds!

Last one for now I promise! #cataloguing #succulentsunday. I have about 4 different kalanchoes but I really struggle to maintain their shape. It doesn’t seem to matter where I put them, they always end up becoming straggly and untidy. #advice please! I don’t like throwing away plants but the kalanchoes are the one type I sometimes think I should! 😮

They do this as they get older and become woody. So propagate some leaves, make new young plants then you won't feel guilty binning the old one 😊

Yes I’ll do that @hayleyaj. Ah yes, thinking about it, the one on the right was from a propagated stem a couple of years ago. I’ll propagate leaves from my other straggly ones. Thanks.
