Developing my knowledge all the time. I love growing plants: barely any space on my windowsills, nor on my patio as it's full of pots. #renting.

Latest #sweetpea flowers vivid pink!! Think they’re #heirloom but could be #antiquefantasy as the plants have all intertwined with each other!! 21/09/19

That looks pretty red to me 😆😆 I'm only going to sow a couple of seeds next spring. I didn't realise how big sweet peas get and they got a bit out of control. 😅😥

#sweetpea #heirloom #climber #seedlings Need to start putting one I kept inside over winter outside under a cloche. When is the best time to plant these up?! Tricky to support them in a plastic bottle! Outside ones been through winter and look better than ones kept indoors! 17/03/19

They need a lot of light and low temperature to develop strong growth, otherwise they grow leggy. Have you pinched them out yet? That helps them to develop sturdy stems. I sowed mine only last week so I wouldn't have to nurse them all winter ☺ Will be interesting to see if I will be able to get them to grow slowly and steadily. So far, they only just germinated and are less than 1cm tall 😅

@ublaszko I think the ones inside have been too warm as they are not as bulky at all. I wish I’d waited a bit later in autumn to sow them now but I got impatient! They need supporting now really. I did pinch them out when they were first growing but not done it for a while. Maybe I should punch them out again now!

You definitely shouldn't punch them 😁😁 I sowed a couple of seeds last week but I think I'll wait another week or two to sow the rest. The seeds that germinated are growing really fast now and they're starting to look a bit leggy.

@ublaszko predictive text! They do grow quick. I might pinch them out again.

I probably would as well. 😉 Mine have just developed the first set of leaves and I'm so impatient to pinch them out. One more set of leaves 😥😰

Your brave, I don't start any seeds off till spring as I don't trust myself to drag myself out to the greenhouse when it's cold 😁

Are they planted in old toilet rolls? Thats a brilliant idea why didnt I think of that

@angiecrazycatlady I’ve kept plenty of seeds back for spring but was getting bored and some of them said to plant this time of year! My plastic greenhouse is on my patio so not far to go but just hoping I can keep it up this winter, as it blew over last year. 🤞🏼 love trying things out anyway! 😊 @angiecrazycatlady

@referee101 Yes cut up loo roll and kitchen paper rolls. Saves having to buy the fibre pots all the time!! And easy to plant up, less fiddly!! #reuse #repurpose 😊

It's a good idea to sow both seasons just in case, good that it close to the house, mine is at the end of the garden, I didn't think that through when I had it put up 😂

I'm going to see how bad the weather gets. It survived the winds we had the other week. I'm hoping I've pegged it down better this year!! I'll take it down if I have to and bring the seedlings inside. 😊 @auricula
