Found this #bee looking rather dopey in my greenhouse last weekend, think it had been in there all night! Rescued it by transferring it from the pot it was crawling around to my #lewisia #elise feeling very brave as I’m fearful of anything that could sting! After about ten mins walking around getting enough nectar, it flew off. I did try making a sugar solution but don’t think it went near that. Felt very proud of myself for saving a bee. Not sure what type it was though. #wildlifewednesday

@auricula I didn’t do anything in particular. It stayed in this pot, I munched and the pot is in the middle of all my pots, many of which are taller so I guess it’s a bit sheltered. Sorry yours haven’t overwintered. Hope you have more success with your new plugs 😊

I love them, but mine all died last winter in cold wet clay soil here, so got 2 new ones & will make sure they are out of the rain during winter this time!

That's something to bear in mind. Will they survive the winter in a pot? 😊 @jeatacake

Yes, probably better in a pot as unless you have very good draining soil, they'll be sat in wet conditions for most of the winter, which did for mine! In pots, you can use sand or gravel etc to make compost drain better & you can move them to a spot where they won't get too much rain on them over winter 👍
