Does the flowerhead look larger/longer than common muscari? It's really similar to common muscari but Blue Magic seems to have larger flowerheads and better foliage. 😊

@ublaszko the flower heads are huge! Probably twice the size of the normal ones!! 😳

Yeah, same as mine 👍 Sounds like they are Blue Magic and this variety typically produces 2-3 flowering stems per bulbs.

That was my concern when I thought whether or not to buy a mixed pack. They usually bulk it up with some common varieties and then put a couple of less common ones. It will be interesting to see what mine will turn out to be. Keep the pics coming so we can compare 👍

Ooh @ublaszko wonder which of my mixed #muscari #grapehyacinth bulbs this will be! A few of them starting to develop the flowers now. 🤗 certainly perked me up 21/02/19

How exciting! My muscari armenicum are starting to develop flowering stems too but not the other varieties I added last autumn. I should check the ones I have in the front garden tomorrow. 😆👍💙💙💙

That's a good idea 👍 I also take a picture of where I planted my bulbs and the label so I have both handy when and as needed. I tried using ice lolly sticks to mark the spot as well this year but it turned out the sticks rotted really quickly 😕

I have been using plastic markers but just bought a load of lolly sticks to be more environmentally friendly!! Hope they don't rot else that will have been a mistake!! @ublaszko

I hope you get a nice mix of muscari in the bag, not just the usual blue ones. Fingers crossed. I'm on the hunt for more bicolour ones. I got one called 'Mount Hood' last year, blue with white cap. 😍💙💙💙

Yes I'm hoping there's a mix but as my old blue ones failed this year, I don't mind if I do have more blues. I really like the look of the pale blue/indigo ones. I was also looking at the mount hood ones. @ublaszko

You can take a look at pictures of Mount Hood in my plant list. 😊 I'm hoping it will come back next year and multiply like common muscari do. I also have a white variety. Next, I'm after pale blue variety called 'Peppermint' or the purple one with white cap. I didn't know before GT how many different varieties of muscari there are !

Yeah your Mount Hood pictures look good @ublaszko I didn’t know of the different colours either! Thought it was just the darker blue/indigo ones! I’ve learnt so much from this app! 😊
