#tulip #Pinocchio thinking about opening up! Looks like it’s going to be the only flower of these bulbs 😔 23/03/19 #springtime
Is it the first year for them? I dug up my last year's dwarf tulips and the bulbs were too small to flower again but I'm saving them to see if they will flower next year.
They’re the forced ones I bought a few years ago. Think I’ll dig them out the trough when they leaves have gone yellow and put them in the ground and leave them. If nothing happens I’ve not lost much after this showing and I’ll have space in my trough for my new plants 👍🏼 @ublaszko
Sounds like a good plan 👍 They won't flower reliably each year so you might as well move them to make space for a good performer. If you have grit, put some in the planting hole when you move your tulips so you minimise the risk of them rotting away.

#bulbs #springbulbs leaves looking a bit raggedy on my #tulip #pinocchio Think I’ll have to move the bulbs for next year. 02/03/19
Have you had your dinner out there today.....🍴😋🤣
🤣🤣 I don’t even notice the plastic cutlery anymore!!! Stops the plants being disturbed by cats!!! I must remember to remove them for photos!! @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom
I’ve got half bottles of water doing the same job....🤣🤣🤣
Slugs and snails love these dwarf tulips! I use slug pellets around tulips in general before I even see any foliage coming through. Last year my dwarf tulips looked like Swiss cheese 😂
I sometimes find that more slugs come when I put pellets down!! 😂 when is the best time to move/divide these? @ublaszko
Slugs and snails are attracted to the pellets but if you spread the pellets in a circle around the plant then they will go for the pellets and die rather than for your tulips.
It depends if you're willing to keep these bulbs for 2-3 years before they flower again. If not, then just chuck them in the bin after they finished flowering. Otheriwise, you can move them in autumn but do not plant them again before the first frost (November time).
What's with the knife and fork #bluefox23 am I missing something?
@cazstaks my neighbour’s cat used to dig up my pots to defecate in when I planted new things so I had to start putting sharp objects in the pots to deter them. It worked!!!
Hahaha nice one #bluefox23

Love this one, lost mine last year 🥺🥺
Love the name, what colour will it be? 🌷
That's a shame Jane, think mine probably need to moved after this year to spread them out a bit and revive them. @pelly
Ange, they are red and yellow 😊 @anges

A rather scraggy looking #tulip in a container that needs a lot of improvement! #pinocchio
A bit of sun and #tulip #pinocchio opens up just a little bit more. 😊 25/03/19
