There was nothing wrong that I saw with the roots apart from a little bit of mycelium growth along the edges, nothing majorly bad though.

I repoted the ihi plant in a terracotta pot and hopefully he'll go well! 😄🤞

The ihi plant isn't going well, leaves have been shrivelling and also becoming mushy, I can't tell what's wrong though... 🤔🤨☹
@KathyB @sunlovin @brightcolours do you know what's wrong?
Shrivelling is usually a sign of dehydration BUT in combo with mushy, there's a good chance that the dehydration is caused by root issues. I would take it out of the mix, carefully wash the roots and have a really good look at them.
Thank @KathyB I think I might also repot the guy into a terracotta pot for airflow, the leaves are spacing out and there hasn't been much growth so that's not good.
Mushy leaves to me usually means rot. 🤔🌞
Terracotta is my preferred pot type :) looks pretty, ages well, and allows for air flow (as you said) as well as evaporation along the whole surface area. I think it helps keep media healthy

Nice!🌞
So jealous! 😍😍😍 I've killed half a dozen of these trying to get one to survive. Idk, maybe they hate the dry desert air. 🤷🏻♀️ A lot of succulents don't need much water, but still don't like dry air.
Sunlight, they love that stuff. @beatnikcrab
I've definitely got plenty of that where I live, so idk what I was doing wrong. 🤷🏻♀️ Other portulaca varieties tend to struggle here, and are strictly annuals, since they can't survive the summers. I'll just stick with cacti and spiky succulents, I guess, and be satisfied to enjoy photos of other people's ihi plants. 😆
I don't know why the leaves are yellowing, maybe I'm watering it too much???
